Daniel Mermet and Guivi Anquetil suggested from December 9 to 17, a series of programs spent in Congo, or more exactly in the east of the country. It's called "Congo, Kivu, Katanga, this magnificent African cake" and you can listen here .

The first two programs back on the war in Kivu, and its Rwandan origin. The third issue is an interview with André Guichaoua (specialist of Rwanda).
can be seen that the remarks made by Mermet and Guichaoua are questionable, as it is for both men to highlight the responsibility of Paul Kagame of the RPF in the wars of the Congo - which is no doubt but rather short, because the responsibilities are many and complex: the state Mobutu of Zaire has largely allowed the chaos to settle down, and almost all the neighbors of African giant bear responsibility for the conflict, Uganda (primarily) to Angola, through Namibia, Zimbabwe, Chad ... And I'm not talking about huge economic interests of major Western industrial groups, or the Franco-American rivalry that has not helped matters.
short, if Kagame is not a model democratic leader - but Mobutu and Museveni were they? - You can find it odd to make it bear sole responsibility for the ills of the Congo (which exempts strangely Interahamwe groups, future FDLR, the main culprits of the atrocities) *.
Emissions 4, 5 and 6 deal with the current situation and deal with miners, rapes of women in Walikale, coltan, the cassérite and Goma.
Finally, the sixth issue - the "musical" - is lighter but no less interesting, and speaks of tchukudus Goma and musicians of Gecamines in Lubumbashi.

In any case, it is an exciting series to listen, and I thank Guy Delisle me having reported.

* I say this quickly: the war in Congo is obviously very complicated, and I am unable to see clearly. We should add that as for the Rwandan genocide, people who talk are often biased and difficult to settle permanently.

Pocket Atv Wont Start

Twenty

Lislet Geoffroy (1755 - 1836), son of a man of the Enlightenment and a princess of Senegal, is the first major scholar of Bourbon. It has never been a slave, but he was the son of a slave. It was also the first "black" member of the Academy of Sciences in Paris (where he never set foot).

Lislet was two years younger qu'Evariste Parny, did they meet? Lislet knew he Evariste these sentences (in a letter to Bertin 1775):

" I can not please me in a country where my eyes can not fall on the show the easement, where the noise whips and chains and stun my ears rang in my heart. I can only see tyrants and slaves, I do not see my fellow man. It swapped every day a man against a horse: it is impossible for me to accustom myself to a quirk so shocking. "

Those are my two heroes of the Enlightenment of Bourbon *: black, scientific, rational, son of a slave, we imagine serious and composed, and white, literary, whimsical, son of slave, one imagines strange and agitated. Both have fully adhered to the philosophers of their age, all Both have been recognized by institutions of their time (the Academy of Sciences for Lislet, the French Academy for Evariste), and both are dead out of their island where, however, they wanted to return.
(and both are pretty ugly in the portraits that represent them.)

* hey, it would make a great book title!

Cover Leeter For Sales Person

A publication to read or reread

We can not recommend enough reading:
Dietary pesticides (99.99 all natural), by Bruce Ames, Margie Profet, Lois Swirksy Gold, Proc Natl Acad Sci USA, vol 87, pp. 7777-7781, October 1990

I translate the abstract:
The toxicological significance of exposure to synthetic compounds is explored in the context of exposures to naturally occurring compounds. We calculated that 99.99% (by mass) of pesticides in the diet of Americans are compounds produced by plants to defend themselves. Only 52 natural pesticides have been tested in animal models, and about half (27) are rodent carcinogens; these 27 compounds are present in many foods. We conclude that natural and synthetic compounds have the same probability of being carcinogenic, according testing. We conclude also that at low doses at which they occur in humans, the risks of synthetic pesticide residues are insignificant compared to the risks associated with natural pesticides.

Washiba Almighty!

Yesterday evening, at the Halle de la Gombe, very good concert Washiba, the "howler-entertainers" Kasai Kinshasa.
A good half-dozen musicians and singers, all wigs and Grimes, who put an electric atmosphere with their GNI Mutuashi, grinning and explosive mix of funk james Brownian folk Kasai and improbable occasions (including the Michael Jackson Tshiluba).
Unfortunately, I forgot my camera.
Otherwise, I spoke with Sandrine Bonnaire today (but still without a camera). And

Tiffany Granath Juli Ashton Night Call

Sapologie

Dueling fire Saturday night in Matonge around Hon Daddy Claw.

As it had rained, the engineers arrive in small numbers, a half-dozen people in their twenties elegant as initially planned is that the fire does not specifically to muddy his clothes, which each element is "two to three plots in Kinshasa" (explain one of them).
Claw Daddy starts the evening with a long speech, which showed 1. it is the direct descendant of King Solomon, 2. the acronym SAPE should mean League of Artists and Elegant People (instead of the League of Ambianceurs and Elegant People) and 3. he wrote a book about it some twenty chapters still waiting for his publisher.

The evening Sape then proceeds in two stages: first-arrival parade of fire, during which each protagonist is committed to adopting an approach that is both strange and spectacular, and the duel itself, during which it must cause the opponent and try to humiliate him by addressing marks (ie labels) much more prestigious than him.

In the end, we will place the enjoyer of Primus to drink and eat grilled kebabs.

Headscissored By My Cousin

I answer by a student ...

This post answers, somehow, to a student who consulted me (what an honor for me what for him unconsciousness!) about the choice of the institution where he was to come.

was in May or June, while the entrance to the Grandes Ecoles ending. The young man was admitted everywhere, in the most prestigious schools.

About one of them, he said: "One of my friends told me that there is no education is overrated."

Surfait, the teaching of the best French schools?

There was something surprising. Of course, schools are groups of teachers, and it would be naive to believe that teachers in the school of which he was subject would be much smarter than teachers in neighboring schools ... You know, for me, the only account of the work and honesty. However, the remark was shocking ...

Because the analysis, our young friend, and especially his friend, had not realized that the schools are cheap in Spain. It is not that the school is "good", but it gives students a taste for work and the opportunity to engage in them.

One of our French winners of the Nobel Prize has said enough as a student, his teachers were wrong, so he went to the library "writing lesson" it dried, using books in the library. It mattered little that teachers are "good" or "bad" teachers (what is a good teacher? A bad teacher?) It was enough that our friend can find something to "make its honey."

Let us know that our institutions are English inns, Ecole into business: Do not let the geese that are Gave. Take our destiny.

Dishlex Global 300 Pots Light Flashing

Legends Jewish and Christian

Yesterday I was reading the blog Joann Sfar, who complained of not finding children's literature atheists.
It reminded me, with emotion, my grandparents and my aunt, all three major laïcards before the eternal (dare I say).
When I married, the great fear of my grandmother was that I do in church. It took me aside one evening and told me to close that one vote "in the family, we're not going to church, you know." Of course I knew it, and there was a long time since I had sworn never to * fuck the foot in a church except to admire the stained glass. Still, it struck me that an old lady, teacher of literature and history retired the secular school girl black hussar of the Republic, s'émeuve the possibility that his grand-son to betray that legacy away.

In the same spirit that a few years later, the birth of my son, my aunt gave me "Jewish and Christian legends" of a certain Jacqueline Marchand. And, dear Joann, I can only strongly advise you this book, which undoubtedly will delight your children without making tadpoles font.
The Centre for Lay of the Free University of Brussels makes the following presentation: "The main episodes from the Old and New Testament are taken up and discussed with scrupulous attention to critical .(...) This reading of secular scripture given to young and old alike, to respect both the imperative of scientific research in history of religions, the meaning of sacred texts and views, great variety of readers. "

There is no freedom for the ignorant.

* for my misfortune, j 'had had the opportunity to attend various church services - weddings, funerals, baptisms - And I have kept a terrible memory.

How Often To Get Maintance On Brazlian Wax

Education issues Preaching

This is not correct impolitic to say that there are good bakers and bakers mediocre, good cooks and chefs intéressnats least, students and other workers who take the side ...

Moreover, the sequence observations tends to think that the issue is not about being good or not, but to work or not work. That said, the question of this post is not there.

My question today is to observe that among the teachers, too, there is everything. Good and less good.

Better yet, the question today is not to stay in this, but, rather, the question of how, knowing what has become apparent that, collectively, we were able to overcome the inadequacies of some, to encourage them (as long as they agree), and consolidate others in a laborious way, so admirable?

This issue alone is not politically correct, and I want to ask ... but still he will not the future of our children?

Is There A Way To Regain Kidney Function

preached

We will still charge me to pay in evangelism, but whatever.

Let me correct myself: I have long propagated the idea of Valery "If want to build a ship, the men heard the call of the infinite sea" ... but it is an idea of slave demagogue.

Why not rather, if we want to build a ship, learn to hear the appeal of the endless sea "

For me, it resolved: I remember the second formula.
